I hope this shows clearly the function of Item 1. which enables a wire to be bent to the stake, post or
paling while object 2. is used to twist a short length of wire round the other half of the stake and attach both its ends onto the long wire.
All three appear to date to the mid/late nineteenth century.

ReplyDeleteThe last item is probably a wire strain testing gauge and the second a gizmo for twisting wire.
You really are good at this Rog, could I stretch a point and ask if you have any clues as to the first member of the group?
